Instagram the 10th-Largest US Smartphone App by Reach

With 25.5% reach among adult iOS and Android app users, Instagram ranked as the 10th-largest smartphone application during the 3-month period ending in October 2013, according to the latest smartphone audience figures from comScore. Instagram enjoyed wider reach than Twitter’s app (21.8%) for the period, though leaps and bounds ahead of both was Facebook’s mobile app, which reached 75.7% of adult iOS and Android app users. The closest competitor to Facebook in the smartphone app popularity contest is Google Play, with its 54% reach a fair distance back. (more…)
